We need proof!
December 9th, 2007
At last…to get an idea of how the magnets would work on a whiteboard, we’ve managed to get some proof-material. 3M provided some magnets with whiteboard-like-material on it, so that you can write on the magnets as well.
I allready had some GUI-objects printed on magnets to see what the quality of the print would be like.I like it, but I will print more to test with different sizes and share some with others to try the magnets in actual workspaces.

Looks cool, but…
When giving a presentation, I believe I can draw a pulldown menu faster than looking it up in the magnet-box…
Although the idea is refreshing and the public stays awake when presenting in such a manner…

These will look great to the Wii and DS magnets on my fridge, Rik!

awesome idea!
@wilcman, I don’t think I’d use this for presentations but rather the step before that. A system for quickly working out ideas that’ll end up in a decent presentation.

yeah, I see this as a set of handy tools during the concept fase.
You could easily shift around the pieces on the whiteboard, tweaking here and there til you have a well thought through interface design.
nice idea!

Good for structuring a GUI with the targeted users.
Next step, a dedicated whiteboard to build up a GUI and test it on a monitor or a screen projector.
In the end, may be a way for an enhanced reality ?
